As a result of the research of a putting in order skill I was convinced that essential reorganization of a house changes your lifestyle and a world-view essentially too. It changes your life.
And how much is your house regulated?
If I was asked “How to begin the way of self-development?”, I would answer “Put your house in order”. There is intercommunication between disorder at home and in the way of thinking. Outside there is the same as inside. You can easily foretell how a man lives just taking a look at his house. (When I say it to people they stop inviting me to visit them).
It doesn’t mean that an ideally clean house is a way to success. This is a step on the way of personal growth. But an untidy room is a guaranteed sign of a looser.
“In Japan people believe that such actions as the cleanup of a room and the disinfecting of a toilet bring luck but if your house is cluttered up, the effect from the cleansing of a lavatory pan won’t be big. When you finish putting your house in order you will change strikingly. As soon as you feel the advantages of really organized house you will sense that your whole world became brighter. You will never return to a mess. This is what I call the magic of clean up. And its consequences are colossal. You will stop not only to arrange disorder but receive a new start in your life. This is magic which I want to share with as many people as possible.
The main thing in the creating of order is the getting rid of unnecessary things. People often say to themselves: “If you doubt whether you need this thing or not, throw it away.” But in this case there are a lot of subjects that still remain in a house.
The Japanese methodology offers another way. It says “If you want to decide what things to keep and what things to throw away you should take each subject and ask yourself: “Does it cause joy?” It’s so easy! If a thing doesn’t cause joy throw it away immediately.
It was a big opening for me when it appeared that during all my life I organized the storage of clothes incorrectly. By the Japanese methodology they should be folded vertically and not in lying position.
In order to be able to keep clothes in standing position, you should make them compacter. It means that should fold your clothes several times. People suggest that a large amount of folds leads to the appearance of a large amount of wrinkles on fabric, but they aren’t right.
The rise of wrinkles isn’t caused by the amount of folds it is caused by the quantity of applied pressure.
When you fold your clothes as many times as possible a lot of free space will appear in your cupboard. The main advantage of this method is that you can see all the clothes at their places. You don’t need to rake the pile of clothes in order to decide what to put on today.
And how do you store socks? Do you roll them up like me? It’s incorrect! Socks should be stored vertically too. Never roll them up in a ball. Keep socks putting them sideways, just like clothes. You will be surprised how little space you will need for it and your socks will “heave a sigh of relief”.
Remember, how socks are sold in shops. Are they rolled up in balls?
Put your house in order, right now. Let the power be with you!
